Regular hearing screenings are an important part of maintaining your general health and wellness. Losing your hearing as you age is not uncommon, but the amount of hearing that you lose, as well as the speed at which you lose it, are two factors that can be controlled to an extent, when you seek regular hearing care and examinations.
At The Optical & Hearing Center, we believe in performing yearly hearing exams to ensure that your hearing is in the best shape it can be for as long as possible. In addition to an annual exam, our patients should make note of any unusual or unsettling disruptions in their hearing abilities, and take preventative measures — such as calling a doctor — in the event of any uncertainty.
Some signs of hearing loss include:
- Asking people to repeat what they say to you
- Constantly turning up the volume on the TV or the radio
- Buzzing in the ears
- Hearing unusual clicking or vibrating noises
- Sounds are fading out
- Sudden hearing loss in one or both ears
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, have experienced them in the past, or are interested in performing a routine wellness check up on your hearing, please feel free to schedule an appointment at one of our four locations.
